Nothing but Porn

We just decided that technology kills sex, but canceling cable and Internet access is totally screwed up, so we’re gonna cancel everything but porn channels and porn sites.

Hi Toby. I’m a science/engineering librarian who is disabled with nerve damage and chronic pain. It all happened suddenly about three years ago. To fill time easily, learn to be patient with myself, and accept others I’ve become involved in a large effort called Carepages. It’s a communication system for family and friends of those who are ill and trying to recover or cope with illness. About 500 major hospitals and clinics support it. Strangely, I’ve found a great deal of comfort and support there with others in pain. So, I’ve done some writing about living in pain and taken many pictures and helped people get along. The site is: www.carepages.com If you want to look at/have time you can do a free username and password setup. My page is:FrankLivingFully which I hope to be eventually. I’ve also started a youtube page. It is: fechmb0749 I’m happy about the little movie of Charley, our cat, tossing ping pong balls at me. I found your wife’s site and her blog about your son and cat Tuesdays with Murray? because she had Mohs surgery. A person I follow on carepages: Heather Wagner: carepage name InANutshell has basal cell carcinoma and is afraid of it. It’s perhaps not anything to be that concerned over. My dad had it for his nose and it didn’t disfigure him.
Finally, your title about porn only is amusing and I understand some
- I’m laughing a little here in a knowing way. Wouldn’t it get pretty boring after a while. Sounds exciting, but it’s shallow stuff that pornography. What I’m thinking is the folks at carepages could use some help with their design. The indexing is not powerful. You have to hit their term dead on -no fuzzy logic. Anyway, for your company if they’re interested (I have no idea if) It could be quite a name boost for your group to work with such a humanitarian/caring effort. Your contact with them would have to be well handled.Ok enough of this. I’m going to go on and look at your wife’s blog. We are cat people with Charley here and just love this type of thing. E-mail me if you have a chance. It’s a little hard to find your blog here.
I know what you mean TobyJoe about tv taking over so much time and it’s often so shallow and without merit in helping to work through our pressing problems like healthcare, public education, war spending, and the problems of the middle class among others. You know though, I’ve found pornography to be shallow and boring after just a little while. I mean it’s often just about the physical act without any loving kindness and caring included. I’m kind of laughing to myself tongue in cheek about what you’ve said here. Maybe you could write something about sites you’ve found that use the web’s distribution and communication power well and empower people or realize personal development. With your knowledge of the web, you’ve got to know many. I’m disabled now with nerve damage and chronic pain, but have a website on a service to connect people who are ill with family and friends and help them through things with emotional support and care. My page is: FrankLivingFully on Carepages.com (a service of about 500 major hospitals and clinics) You’d need to register for free to view. There are so many wonderful, caring people there. Perhaps you could help them some with website features such as their poor indexing. I don’t know if they’s accept or not, but the right approach might be welcomed. I found you through your wife’s site where she talked about her Mohs surgery. I referred a friend with a similar problem to her site. Your picture is a strong one and has a simple message and you’re drinking milk. You look like someone who would have a point of view on our consumption driven society where things matter such much more than people and their development. Your wife’s blog on her cat Tuesday with Murray looks fascinating and well written. You could do something like it with communications technology and how or how not it carries deep meaning. Bye now and write about things that matter to you deeply and can be engaged in on the telecommunications front. Just an idea.
Hi TobyJoe, I mistakenly added the second comment above when I thought the first had been lost. I only really wanted to add the idea that you comment and write a lot about how telecommunications adds meaning to our society and perhaps for you to comment on some good sites related to what you deeply care about. You can keep them both if you want. Hope this works out for you.
